24-Port V-DSL Switch Managed opt. Modules, digital
The DHS-3224VJ has 24 VDSL ports, 1 uplink module supporting a 2000Mbps full duplex speed 1000BASE-LX fiber Gigabit port, or a 100Mbps 100BASE-FX fiber Fast Ethernet port. The device allows users to build a high port count via one Telco-50 connector. With dedicated bandwidth per port at speed up to 15Mbps, this switch supports the following modes:
5 Mbps symmetrical rate (up to 1,500 meters)
10 Mbps symmetrical rate (up to 1,200 meters)
15 Mbps symmetrical rate (up to 1,050 meters)
Each VDSL port provides dedicated per port bandwidth up to 5, 10, 15Mbps over Category 1,2 or 3 single-pair copper wiring.
Using V-DSL technology, you can send and receive data over existing phone lines. The building's phone network itself provides the infrastructure for the network.
All you need is one V-DSL bridge for each office/room. A bridge is similar to a modem used for a PC. A splitter (connected to the bridges via the phone lines) is connected to the telephone system and the V-DSL Switch. The splitter separates telephone frequencies (conventional telephones) and data frequencies (LAN/WAN). The phone frequencies are directed to the telephone system and are transferred to the telephone network. Data is channeled to the V-DSL Switch. The switch transfers this data to the IP Backbone where, for example, the file server and Internet are located.
